In this lab we will be using a program called "xppaut" (G.B. Ermentrout, U.Pitt. Math. Dept.) to numerically integrate ordinary differential equation models of various phenomena. For a web based tutorial:

The program has very broad applications which we will not explore here. Instead we shall be interested more in demonstrating lecture concepts on some of the following models:
| Burster Model | Model to demonstrate various complex oscillations |
| Burst Model Fast Subsystem | Fast Subsystem of model above |
| Chay-Cook 88 | Model of electrical activity in pancreatic beta cells |
| Chay-Cook 88 (FS) | Fast subsystem of model above |
| Hodgkin Huxley 52 | Model of electrical activity in squid giant axon |
| Morris Lecar (FS) | Model of electrical activity in barnacle muscle fiber |
| FitzHugh Nagumo | Model of excitable system |
