Professor Gedeon's interests lie in applied dynamical systems, neuroscience, discrete optimization theory and modeling. He actively collaborates with Center for Computational Biology at MSU on neural coding problems and with colleagues in the Computer Science Department on algorithm development. He has published papers in Memoirs of American Mathematical Society, Proceedings of AMS, SIAM Journal of Mathematical Analysis, Journal of Differential Equations, Journal of Dynamics and Differential Equations Physica D, Neural Networks, Neurocomputing and others.

Professor Gedeon is part of IGERT supported multidisciplinary graduate program at MSU.
