A member of the Department of Mathematical Sciences since 1992, Professor Hodgson's research interests include the use of mathematical modeling as a context for instruction, the use of multiple representations in problem solving, statistics education, and the use of technology in the mathematics classroom. As a teacher, he works with both pre-service elementary and secondary teachers. Additionally, he plays an active role in the Summer Master's in Mathematics Education program. Dr. Hodgson has published in a variety of journals, including School Science and Mathematics, the Mathematics Teacher, the NCTM Yearbook series, and Educational Studies in Mathematics, and has extensive grant administration and evaluation experience.
