TI-92 Help -- Integration


The TI-92 has very powerful integration routines built-in. It can do both symbolic integration and numeric integration. You can access the integration procedures either by using the Calculus menu -- by pressing the F3 key (see the screen below)

-- or by pressing the integration symbol (2-nd 7) from the keyboard (see the picture below).

The screen at the right illustrates three ways in which the integration routines can be used.
  • To find an indefinite integral or antiderivative.

  • To find a definite integral.

  • To find a definite integral with symbolic limits.

The TI-92 will find an exact answer using symbolic calculations if that is possible -- or it will find a numeric approximation if an exact answer cannot be found or if you ask for an approximate answer. The screen at the right illustrates how the TI-92 handles integrals involving integrands like sin(t^2) that do not have simple symbolic antiderivatives. Missing TI-92 screen
