These patterns can be printed on transparency film and used for some of the experiments that are often done with ripple tanks.
Each page contains six figures with fine concentric circles like the figure at the top of this page. You should print copies of the basic figure on transparency film and on paper and give one paper copy and one film copy to each student.
Each pattern shows the waves emanating from a single source. By laying the film on top of the paper you can see how the waves from two sources combine to create interference patterns.
