The picture below shows the simplest set-up for collecting temperature data -- a single temperature probe connected to the CH1 port of the CBL and the CBL connected via the linking cable to the TI-92, TI-82, or the TI-85/CBL. This set-up was used to collect the first set of data in this case study.
The procedure is as follows.
These programs are listed below. If you have the TI-Graph Link program and cable and your browser has been set up to use TI-Graph Link then you can click on the button next to the program to download it to your calculator.
The program will prompt you for the time between measurements and the number of measurements.
These programs are listed below. If you have the TI-Graph Link program and cable and your browser has been set up to use TI-Graph Link then you can click on the button next to the program to download it to your calculator.
You can analyze the data on the TI-92, the TI-85/CBL or the TI-82 or you can upload it via TI-Graph Link to an IBM compatible or Macintosh personal computer for analysis. Help is available for uploading data from the TI-82, TI-85, or TI-92 to the computer.
The figure below shows a set-up for a slightly more complicated experiment -- this time using two temperature probes. The procedure is identical to the preceding experiment except the TI-82 program TEMPSET2 is used instead of TEMPSET1. Not surprizingly, you would use the TI-82 program TEMPSET3 to collect data from three temperature probes and the TI-82 programs GET2 and GET3 to read the collected data from the TI-CBL to the TI-82. With the TI-85/CBL you use the programs TPST2, TPST3, GET2, and GET3. With the TI-92 you use the programs tempset2, tempset3, get2, and get3. All these programs are listed below. If you have the TI-Graph Link program and cable and your browser has been set up to use TI-Graph Link then you can click on the button next to any of these programs to download it to the calculator.
