Developing and Using Material Locally

Part of the power of the Web is that Web files can reside anywhere -- in Europe, Africa, Asia, Antarctica, North and South America -- even on your own desktop machine. This means that you can develop Web material on your own machine even if you don't have a good Web connection. In fact, even if you do have a good Web connection you can save time and sometimes money by doing your development locally. Because you may want to develop material inside the CCP structure you may want to copy some of the CCP files to your machine. You are welcome to do so. By looking at the urls for the files that you want you can see where they are located within the file structure. You should create the same file structure on your machine with everything contained in one top directory and you should put any CCP files that you download into their proper place. In this way if your material is incorporated in CCP it will fit smoothly and it will work just as it did on your computer. You can download HTML files using the VIEW menu to view the source files and you can download gif files by placing the cursor on the image you want, holding the mouse button down and then choosing the SAVE option from the pop-up menu.
