Contructing Maps Using the Tiger Map Service

The link below leads to the Tiger Map Service maintained by the United States Census Bureau. Using the Tiger Map Sevice you can create your own maps for a variety of purposes.

• Click on the link below to open another window and go to the Tiger Map Service. When the new window is open, size and arrange your two windows so that you can easily move back-and-forth between this window and the new window.

  Working in the Tiger Map Service window, follow the steps below to create a map.

• Type Helena in the Name box and MT in the State box. Then click the Search button.

• You should see a page with several listings -- one of which is Helena MT (city). Under this listing you will see several links. Click the link for a Tiger Map of the area.

• The Tiger Map Service provides many options that you can use to produce a variety of different maps. You may want to explore before continuing with this module. Go ahead and explore. When you are done you can close the window that was opened for the Tiger Map Service and continue working in this window.
