How to Write for
The Connected Curriculum Project

One of the most important characteristics of the Connected Curriculum Project is openness. You are encouraged to write your own material to fit into the CCP structure. You may want to write some material for your own use or for the use of your students or you may want to write some material that will become part of CCP and will be used more widely. You can develop material and use it on your own computer even if you do not have access to a Web site.

For material to be part of CCP it must conform to certain standards that will make it easier to maintain CCP and that will maintain a common look-and-feel that will make CCP easier to use. All material that is included within CCP will be refereed for content, style, and structure before inclusion. In addition, material may be modified or deleted depending on other material that becomes available. You are encouraged to submit material for possible inclusion in CCP. If you are interested in writing material for possible inclusion in CCP please send us email by clicking here.

Writing material for CCP, like writing material for the Web, is easy. You need to know something about HTML -- the Hypertext Markup Language used by the Web -- and you need to know something about the file structure of CCP. In addition, you need to know at least one of the CAS systems Maple and Mathematica and you need to have some way of making images and movies. Images must be in "gif" format and movies in either "mpeg" or QuickTime format. Many programs will produce the required formats.

Because many modules within CCP will have common needs -- for example, links to help for the CBL -- we are building a library of modules to serve these needs.
