We have learned a lot about how to use this wonderful new medium over the last two years. You will notice some big differences between material written some time ago and the more recent material.

• Java: Newer material makes use of Java for more interaction. Click here for more about Java and a list of some Java applets and source code.

• Look-and-Feel: The older material has a grey look and doesn't make use of frames or tables. The newer material has a lighter background and look. In addition, fonts and the background are hard-coded in the newer material.

• Navigation: There is a navigation bar like the navigation bar below at the top of the newer modules.

  

  The icons in this strip are clickable. They lead in order from left to right to:

  • The Connected Curriculum Project home page.

  • The table of contents for the current "course" or "book."

  • The table of contents for the current subject or "chapter."

  • Reload the current module. This button is useful if you have been following links and want to return to the beginning of this module.

  • A pair of buttons for Mathematica. The first button launches Mathematica with a notebook for this module. The second button (the question mark) leads to help for Mathematica.

    We are adapting to the latest changes from Wolfram -- unfortunately, Version 3.0 of Mathematica is not entirely compatible with Version 2. Many of the Mathematica buttons lead to a page that gives you a choice between a Version 2 notebook and a Version 3 notebook.

  • A pair of buttons for Maple. The first button launches Maple with a worksheet for this module. The second button (the question mark) leads to help for Maple.

    Most but not all of the modules have Maple worksheets.

  • A pair of buttons for Mathcad. The first button launches Mathcad with a notebook for this module. The second button (the question mark) leads to help for Mathcad.

    Although the buttons are here, we haven't wrtten the Mathcad material yet.

  • A pair of buttons for the TI-92. The first button open a new browser window with TI-92 instructions for this module. The second button (the question mark) leads to help for the TI-92.

  • Some modules have an additional button for the Mathematical Structure. Click here for more information about this button.

  • The last "button" indicates the best width for your browser window. We are making extensive use of tables. This material looks best with the indicated width.

  This button helps avoid scrolling. Clicking it brings it to the top of the browser window.
