On-Campus Courses

Summer Courses

The MSMME Summer On-Campus courses are offered during a three-week Summer Institute.  Because of the concentrated nature of the on-campus summer coursework, it is recommended that students complete no more than 7 on-campus credits during the Institute (students may opt to enroll in a summer distance course, which would allow them to earn the maximum of 10 credit hours during the summer).  All MSMME students are required to be on-campus for one three-week Institute.  Many students opt to spend the three weeks on campus in campus housing during the Institute.  This results in a lively community of mathematics teachers on campus each summer, who often continue their collaborations throughout the school year using the Internet. All MSMME students are given accounts and can use the campus computer facilities to gain access to these courses.

The following courses are regularly taught as on-campus courses during the Summer Institute.

Math 424 Algebraic Investigations for the Middle Grades 3 credits

Math 500 Capstone Seminar 1 credit

Math 524 Linear Algebra for Teachers 3 credits

Math 525 Analysis for Teachers 3 credits

Math 535 Technology and the Teaching of Mathematics 3 credits

Math 571-01 In-Service Mathematics Education: Introduction to Action Research 2 credits
