Office Hours

Schedule (Wil 2-236)

Classroom

TR 12:15-1:30pm (Wil 1-115)

Grading

The course percent is determined from Homework, a Midterm and a Final respectively worth 200, 100 and 100 points. The course percentage is then:

% = (M+F+HW)/4

The final is not comprehensive. Both the midterm and final are in-class open note exams 1hr and 15min long. Homework and exam details will be posted below later.

Final Exam: Monday, Dec 7 2:00-3:50pm in regular classroom

Grades: Grades are posted in MYINFO as of Wed 12/9 10am.

HW5

Exams

Type  Date Description

Midterm 1

Oct 22
  1. You are allowed one sheet of notes (both sides).
  2. The Vector Space axiom sheet (A1)-(A10) will be attached to the test.
  3. The test will only include material from HW1-HW3
  4. Most of the material will be on section 1.8 and chapter 4 of the textbook.
  5. Some notable points
    1. There won't be Elementary Matricix questions
    2. You will need to know all the algebraic properties of transpose, inverses and determinants of matrices
    3. You won't have to prove theorems I did in class/my notes
    4. You need to know all about matrix transformations (M333_3)
    5. The only material possibly from Chapter 3 would be projections.
    6. Any question on vector spaces from M333_5 to M333_7b is fair game and the bulk of the test.
Final

Monday
Dec 7
2:00-3:50

  1. You are allowed one sheet of notes (both sides).
  2. The test will only include material from HW4-HW5
  3. You will not be awarded full credit if you use notation incorrectly
  4. Just stating an answer without some sort of work will not give you full credit.
  5. There may be a True/False question or a question that will check your knowledge of definitions and/or notations.
  6. I'm trying to write it so you need only 75min to do it but you will have the full 1hr 50min
