Minutes of the 1999 Annual Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Steve Cherry.


Susan Hinkins gave the Treasurer's Report:

Jon Graham gave the Chapter Representative's report. Jon was appointed to replace Elsie Valeroso, when she moved to California. ASA would like to build an archive of histories of the chapters and encourages each chapter take this on. The DC chapter has a pamphlet on history. ASA is seeking proposals for continuing education classes. Money is available for K-12 outreach. There will be an increase in ASA dues. They are requesting proposals for the Traveling Lecture/Short Course program. For these programs, ASA pays the airline cost and the speaker honorarium; the local chapter pays all the local expenses. Must have at least 25 attendees.

The chapter email list was handed out and the current membership list was passed around for corrections.

It was agreed that the term of office for the MT Chapter officers will be the calendar year - terms beginning January 1. This did not require a formal change to the chapter constitution. The term of office now corresponds with the fiscal year.

The officers for 2000 are therefore:

The Chapter constitution indicates that there should be audits of the finances. A motion was made that the past-President and the past-past-President would act as auditors. The motion passed unanimously.

There was a brief discussion of the need to amend the Chapter Constitution. It was moved and passed that the President and the past-President could consider necessary amendments to be discussed at the next year's meeting.
