- Notes
- The two midterm exams will be given in our class during the regularly scheduled hour.
- All of the examinations are to be taken without the use of calculators or computers.
- I will be enforcing the prerequisites for this class (a passing grade in M181).
- As per 1998-2000 MSU Catalog, attendence
will be required during the first three weeks of the class.
- The final exam is on Wed. Dec. 20th, please make note of that now.
- Homework is far and away the single most important part of any mathematics course because this is when most of the learning takes place. Homework problems will be assigned regularly and I expect you
to do them. If you are unable to do a problem I expect you to find out how to do it.
- You have at your disposal several means of meeting this expectation.
- You can ask me about the problem in class.
- You can see me individually during my office hours. I am always happy to talk to you during my office
hours.
- You can discuss the problem with a classmate or several classmates (strongly encouraged).
- You can talk to one of the mathematics tutors in the learning center about the problem.
- You can discuss the problem with anyone who can and is willing to help you.
- You can stick with it until you figure it out yourself.
- Simply ignoring a problem that you are unable to solve is not acceptable.
There will be a link to your individual grades from our class webpage. Access to your grades is restricted to individuals
with a password. To
check your grade click on your folder (first 4 letters of your last name and first initial), when the dialog box appears
type in your user name exactly as it appears on the folder you clicked.
Your password is the last 4 digits of your student ID number ( no spaces or dashes).
If you have trouble gaining access to your grades directory consult the README file link.
