Stat 408 Assignment 1

1. Install (or update) R on a computer.
   Go to the home page for this course.
   Bookmark the page. Note that assignments will appear here.
   Click Setting Up R and follow the instructions to download and install.
2. Install Rstudio. This is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) which is nice for organizing our work.
3. Set up a folder for Stat408.
4. Email me () to answer these questions:
   1. Where does your Stat 408 folder reside relative to your home directory?
   2. Start RStudio and look in the Help menu. What manuals or documentation has it installed on your computer? (Breifly describe for both RStudio and underlying R manuals and docs).
   3. What is your plan for backing up the files we'll need for this class? For example, do you use something like Goggle Drive or Dropbox? or your own backup system? How often do you do backups?
   4. What stat classes have you had?
   5. Will you be bring a laptop to class or use the departmental computers?
   6. Where did you graduate from high school?
   7. Are you working? If so how many hours/week?
   8. What are your interests?
