LOOKING UP WITHOUT OUR FEET ON THE GROUND

Using telecommunications, ground observations, and weather satellite imagery, students from two elementary schools on the Gulf Coast in Florida tracked weather systems. Stevenson's Stars of Holley-Navarre Intermediate school in Navarre, FL and Golden Gate Weather Center of Golden Gate Elementary School in Naples, FL work together to track weather systems. Providing on-line support, Dr. David McGinnis, a Research Associate at The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, Boulder, Colorado, Dr. Paul Ruscher of Florida State Universitys Florida EXPLORES! program, and Dr. David A. Thomas of Montana State's NETWORK MONTANA PROJECT answered questions students asked while setting up this project.
