Directions: Use the map to help answer the questions.

Western United StatesThe earthquakes on the map are the brown dots and the red squares.  Count how many earthquakes each state had during this 2-week period.  Write the number in the blank space after the state.  Then, answer the questions that follow:
Note: The students may have different counts due to counting earthquakes that occurred in the water, or partially occurred in two states.  They should only count an earthquake if it is mostly inside a state's borders.
