The evaluation of the following series of questions depends entirely
on the use of these units by the educator.
1. How might the information be presented so that there
is a good continuum between the three units?
2. What are some additional sites that can be used for
background information and what are the benefits of each?
3. How much time previous experience with computer technology
is necessary for students to perform the units, and how much time
is needed for all the students to get on the same page technologically?
4. How can these units be used as a basis for students
to create their own GIS data bases, particularly for Unit 3?
5. Can students be grouped in such a manner so that the
information gained be shared with other students in other locations, and/or
can groups be formed so that students can help shoulder the responsibilities
particularly with Unit 3?
6. The ability to download GIS maps from the various sites
should be a part of the performance based assessment.
7. After GIS maps are downloaded, they can be printed and
transparencies made to demonstrate overly abilities of GIS.
8. There are some graphic software packages such as NIH Image and GIS Graphic Manipulators which allow the overlays to manipulated digitally.
