Fighting Fires with Chemicals
Foam A.F.F.F. ATC FIRE OUT 1 FIRE FIGHTING FOAM FEATURES:
DESCRIPTION:
This is a proven effective concentrated liquid designed to form a dense foam to extinguish Class A, Class B and Alcohol fires. This material will smother fires, prevent air from reaching the flammable materials, and lower the heat of combustion by cooling action. This fire fighting foam provides foam and penetrating action to smother and cool all Class A fires. On Class B fires this product provides smothering action from the dense foam, plus the ability to form an emulsion with oils and other hydrocarbons thus creating a cooling barrier interface that lowers the temperature of the oils and reduces the heat of combustion or flashing action of the material.
DIRECTIONS:
Use this fire fighting foam in all types of low, medium, and high expansion equipment, air foam and pressure fog apparatus. It can be used successfully at dilutions of 3 % or 6 %, with water depending on type of equipment and class fire.
A.F.F.F. 3% FIRE FIGHTING FOAM FEATURES:
DESCRIPTION:
A.F.F.F. concentrated liquid is designed to extinguish fires quickly and keep fires from reigniting. This fire fighting foam has a high spread rate. Reduces extinguishing time and chemical usage. A.F.F.F. foam is designed for class A fires. Also suitable for most low boiling hydrocarbon solvents involved in fires. This fire fighting foam forms lighter than oil emulsion which floats on the surface of burning solvents, providing cooling area for surface and an aie exclusion. Reignition is almost impossible.
DIRECTIONS:
Applied from standard equipment at 100-150 psi. Apply by established procedures from upwind onto near surface moving downwind as extinguishment progresses.
A.F.F.F. 3% FIRE FIGHTING FOAM FEATURES:
DESCRIPTION:
This product is specifically designed for fighting class B fires and is a proven effective A.F.F.F. concentrated liquid designed to extinguish fires quickly and keep fires from reigniting. This fire fighting foam has a high spread rate. Reduces extinguishing time and chemical usage. A.F.F.F. foam is designed for and is effective for class A fires as well.

1% CLASS A FOAM FEATURES:
DESCRIPTION:
This is a proven effective concentrate liquid designed to form a dense foam suitable to extinguish Class A fires. High expansion foam extinguishes by a combination of three properties. Firstly, the dense foam blankets the combustible substrate to prevent air (oxygen) from supporting combustion. Secondly, as bubbles collapse, they release their water and become vaporized, providing a cooling action that slows down the rate of combustion. Thirdly, water released from the foam contains wetting agents which facilitates penetration into the substance and increases the rate of extinguishment.
DIRECTIONS:
Use this fire fighting foam in all types of low, medium, and high expansion equipment. It can be used successfully at a dilution of 1% with water.
