Devil’s Backbone Trail Conditions

As of July 15, 2005

Liz ran the entire course Thursday, Windy Pass to Hyalite.   The course is perfect – snow every mile or so but almost none on the trail.   The saddle up to Hyalite is still snowcovered but you can scramble up and it will be a great glissade down.

Lightening is a definite threat on Saturday.   Be prepared to step off the ridge if it is close.

I will mention this at the race brief at 5:30 on Friday at our house, but even if it is hot you can expect cool temps in the morning and evening so bring a long-sleeved shirt and wind jacket minimum.

By the way, the Bozeman Chronicle is doing a full spread on the DB for Sunday’s paper.
