Research interests: Mathematics education, probability, and statistics.

Awards: Several minor and most of Montana State University's major teaching awards, including the Phi Kappa Phi (honorary society) Distinguished Professor award and the "Teacher of the Year" award in the College of Letters and Sciences. Featured speaker at the Kansas City EXPO, a conference on technology in collegiate mathematics education, with a talk entitled "What do we need to teach about math, now that 'Calculators can do it all' " about the increasing importance of symbolic language in mathematics education.
